摘要
TheaimofthisstudyistoreviewtheexistenceevidenceofInformalCross-BorderTrade’s(ICBT)impacttotheTanzaniaeconomyandsuggeststrategicpolicyrecommendationstoGovernment,RegionalEconomicCommunities,andDevelopmentPartnersonthebestapproachinaddressingtheissueofICBTinTanzaniawithitsfour-selectedborderregionandneighboringcountrieswithinEastAfricanCommunity(EAC).Theobjectivehasbeenattainedbyidentifyingfactorscontributingtotheexistence&riseofICBTandbydoinganalysisonthegeneralcharacteristicsofICBTanditstrendinselectedborderregionswheretheissueofICBTiscrucial.Finally,thisarticlesuggestspolicymeasuresthataimatreducingincreasenumberoftradebarriers,i.e.,Non-TariffsBarriers(NTBs)henceincreasethegrowthofformaltradesectorandwidenmoretradeopportunitiesintheregionandattheglobalmarket.
