ALLOCATING REPAIRABLE SYSTEM'S RELIABILITY SUBJECT TO MINIMAL TOTAL COST - AN INTEGER PROGRAMMING APPROACH

摘要 Reliabilityallocationproblemiscommonlytreatedusingaclosed-formexpressionrelatingthecosttoreliability.Arecentapproachhasintroducedtheuseofdiscreteintegertechniqueforun-repairablesystems.Thisresearchaddressestheallocationproblemforrepairablesystems.ItpresentsanintegerformulationforfindingtheoptimumselectionofcomponentsbasedontheintegervaluesoftheirMeanTimetoFailure(MTTF)andMeanTimetoRepair(MTTR).Theobjectiveistominimizethetotalcostunderasystemreliabilityconstraint,inadditiontootherphysicalconstraints.Although,aclosed-formexpressionrelatingthecosttoreliabilitymaynotbealinear;however,inthisresearch,theobjectivefunctionwillalwaysbelinearregardlessoftheshapeoftheequivalentcontinuousclosed-formfunction.Anexampleissolvedusingtheproposedmethodandcomparedwiththesolutionofthecontinuousclosed-formversion.Theformulationforallpossiblesystemconfigurations,componentsandsubsystemsarealsoconsidered.
