摘要
Inrecentyears,althoughcollegestudentshaveacquiredahighlevelofproficiencyinEnglishreading,theyhavemadeverylittleadvancementinEnglishwriting.ThisisduetothefactthatinadequateimportanceisattachedtowritingintheteachingofEnglish,andthatstudentshaverathervagueideasabouttheroleofwritinginforeignlanguagelearningandaboutthediffer-entdiscoursepatternsexistingbetweenEnglishandChinese.Thus,thispapersuggeststhat,inordertoimprovestudents’writingability,twowaysbeadoptedtoraisestudents’awarenessoflearningtowrite:1)integratingtheproduct-orientedap-proachwiththeprocess-orientedapproach;2)usingstudents’readingasawritingsource.
