Point-basedsurfacehasbeenwidelyusedincomputergraphicsformodeling,animation,visualization,simulationofliquidandsoon.Furthermore,particle-basedapproachcandistributethesurfacesamplingpointsandcontrolitsparametersaccordingtotheneedsoftheapplication.Inthispaper,weexamineseveralkindsofalgorithmspresentedoverthelastdecades,withthemainfocusonparticlesamplingtechnologiesforimplicitsurface.Therefore,weclassifyvariousalgorithmsintocategories,describemainideasbehindeachcategories,andcomparetheadvantagesandshortcomingsofthealgorithmsineachcategory.
