ThisresearchisanevaluationofthemethodologyusedintheenvironmentalprogramsinsecondaryeducationofHeraklionPrefectureofCreteintheframeofeducationforsustainabledevelopment（ESD）.Anevaluationtoolwasappliedontheapplicationforms（AFs）andthefinalreports（FRs）oftheschoolprogramsinordertoassesshowtheypromotesustainabilityandwhethertheysatisfythegeneralguidelinesandprinciplesoftheproposedmethodologyofESD.Theeducationalmethodology,whichwasusedintheprograms,combinedelementsfromthemethodofresearchessayanddidacticresearchandwasnotrichininnovativeeducationaltechniques.Almostallprograms,moreorless,promotedtheinterdisciplinaryapproach,theteamworkwithundertakingofresponsibilities,pisionofroles,andpromotionofself-action.Severalactivitiestookplaceoutsidetheschoolonthefield.
