ThisresearchisanevaluationofthemethodologyusedintheenvironmentalprogramsinsecondaryeducationofHeraklionPrefectureofCreteintheframeofeducationforsustainabledevelopment(ESD).Anevaluationtoolwasappliedontheapplicationforms(AFs)andthefinalreports(FRs)oftheschoolprogramsinordertoassesshowtheypromotesustainabilityandwhethertheysatisfythegeneralguidelinesandprinciplesoftheproposedmethodologyofESD.Theeducationalmethodology,whichwasusedintheprograms,combinedelementsfromthemethodofresearchessayanddidacticresearchandwasnotrichininnovativeeducationaltechniques.Almostallprograms,moreorless,promotedtheinterdisciplinaryapproach,theteamworkwithundertakingofresponsibilities,pisionofroles,andpromotionofself-action.Severalactivitiestookplaceoutsidetheschoolonthefield.
