Inrecentyears,topologicalinsulatorshavearousedtheattentionofagreatnumberofscientistsduetotheiruniqueelectronicstructuresandpeculiarphysicalproperties.Triggeredbythesimilarelectronicstructuresasgraphene,thebroadbandnonlinearabsorptionpropertiesoftopologicalinsulatorswereinvestigated.Moreover,themode-lockedorQ-switchedfiberlasersbasedontopologicalinsulatorswererealizedforbroadbandoperatingwavelength.Here,wepresentanoverviewofthepreparation,transferring,linearandnonlinearopticalproperties,andtheirapplicationsoftopologicalinsulatorsinpulsedfiberlasers.Thepulsedfiberlaserstowardsmidinfraredregimeshavebeenproposed.
