Usingamodifiednumericalmodelwithhigherresolutionbothhorizontalandverticaldirections,thesurfacefluxesofthesensibleandlatentheatintheHEIFE(HeiheFieldExperiment)regionwerediagnosed.Basedonstatisticalanaly-sisforthediagnosticfluxes,therepresentativenessandlocationofobservationalstationsintheHEIFEregionwereinves-tigated,aconcreteschemeforsettinguptheobservationalstationsintheHEIFEregionwithdifferentunderlyingsur-facesareobtainedandthegeneralprincipleofchoosingthelocationsofobservationalstationswithbetterrepresentativenessisproposed.
