ThispaperanalyzestheimpactsofurbanizationandunemploymentrateonChina’sporceratewiththepaneldataof31Chineseprovincesfrom2000to2011.Thestudymanifestsasfollows.First,thesignificantinfluenceofurbanizationcannotbeobservedontherisingbreakdownsincethelatterisnottheinevitableresultoftheformer.Inthesecondplace,unemploymentratehasasignificantnegativeinfluenceonporcerate,namely,withtheformerincreasing,thelatterwilldecrease,whichechoestheperspectiveofporcecost.Andfinally,thispaperalsofindspositiveeffectsofpercapitafixedinvestment,old-agedependencyrate,averagehouseholdsize,theproportionoffloatingpopulationandpopulationdensity,andnegativecorrelationofaverageeducationattainmentonporcerate.
