Inverse Radiation Problem of Boundary Incident Radiation Heat Flux in Semitransparent Planar Slab with Semitransparent Boundaries

Aninversemethodispresentedforestimatingtheunknownboundaryincidentradiationheatfluxononesideofone-dimensionalsemitransparentplanarslabwithsemitransparentboundariesfromtheknowledgeoftheradiationintensitiesexitingfromtheotherside.Theinverseproblemissolvedusingconjugategradientmethodofminimizationbasedondiscreteordinatesmethod(DOM)ofradiativetransferequation.TheequationsofsensitivitycoefficientsarederivedandeasilysolvedbyDOM,withtheresultthatthecomplicatednumericaldifferentiationcommonlyusedinsolvingsensitivitycoefficientsisavoided.Theeffectsofanisotropicscattering,absorptioncoefficient,scatteringcoefficient,boundaryreflectivity,fluidtemperatureoutsidetheboundaries,convectionheattransfercoefficients,conductioncoefficientofsemitransparentmediaandslabthicknessontheaccuracyoftheinverseanalysisareinvestigated.Theresultsshowthattheboundaryincidentradiationheatfluxcanbeestimatedaccurately,evenwithnoisydata.
