Athermostaticincubationexperimentwascarriedouttoestimatetheeffectsoffloodingperiods,stalkapplicationandPadditionofFetransformationandPavailabilityincalcareoussoils.SubmergenceincreasedamorphousFe,especiallyinthecaseofstalkapplication.ThenewlyformedamorphousFewithagreatsurfaceareaplayedanimportantroleinPsorption;andsubmergencealsostimulatedthedissolutionofinorganicP,thusincreasingtheavailabilityofsoilPincalcareoussoils.Meanwhile,apartofsolublePwasabsorbedandfixedagainonthesurfaceofnewlyformedamorphousFe,thusresultinginadecreaseofPavailability.SoilrapidlyavailablePincreasedafter150-dayincubation.ThereexistedsignificantlynegativecorrelationsbetweensoilamorphousFecontentandsoilFe-PandrapidlyavailablePcontents.SubmergedconditionspromotedthetransformationofinorganicPaddedtowardFe-Pincalcareoussoils,especiallyinthecaseofstalkapplication.
