ChimonanthusplantswidelydistributedinsouthernareaofChina,whichhavealonghistoryofediblesandmedicine.PhytochemicalinvestigationshaveshownthatChimonanthusproduced143non-volatileconstituents,includingalkaloids,flavonoids,terpenoids,coumarinsandothers,whichexhibitsignificantanti-oxidant,anti-bacterial,anti-cancer,anti-inflammatory,antihyperglycemic,antihyperlipidemicandotherbiologicalactivities.Onthebasisofsystematicreviewingofliteratures,thisarticleoverviewsthenon-volatileconstituentsandpharmacologyofChimonanthusfromdomesticandforeignoverthelast30years(untilJune2018),andmayprovideausefulreferenceforthefurtherdevelopmentofChimonanthus.
