Inthepresentwork,computationalsimulationswasmadeusingANSYSCFXtopredicttheimprovementsinfilmcoolingperformancewithdualtrench.Dual-trenchconfigurationconsistsoftwotrenchestogether,onewidertrenchandtheotherisnarrowtrenchthatextrudedfromthewiderone.Severalblowingratiosintherange(0.5:5)wereinvestigated.Thepitch-to-diameterratioof2.775isused.Byusingthedualtrenchconfiguration,thecoolantjetimpactedthetrenchwalltwotimesallowingincreasingthespreadingofcoolantlaterallyinthetrench,reducingjetvelocityandjetcompletelycoveredonthesurface.Theresultsindicatethatthisconfigurationincreasedadiabaticeffectivenessasblowingratioincreased.Thespatiallyaveragedadiabaticeffectivenessreached57.6%foratM=2.Noobservedfilmblow-offatallblowingratios.Theadiabaticfilmeffectivenessofdualtrenchcaseoutperformedthenarrowtrenchcase,laidbackfan-shapedhole,fan-shapedholeandcylinderholeatdifferentblowingratios.
