ThispaperreportstheinfluencesofheattransfersurfacepropertiesontheformationofCaSO4foulingdepositionduringflowboilingheattransfer.Thesurfacesofseveraltestheatershavebeentreatedbysurfacemodificationtechniques.suchasdynamicmixingionbeamimplantationanddynamicmixingmagnetronsputteringtoreducesurfaceenergy.Foulingrunswiththeseheaterswerecarriedoutatdifferentheatfluxes,flowvelocitiesandsaltconcentrations.TheresultsshowthatheattransfersurfaceswithlowsurfaceenergyexperiencedsignificantlyareducedformationofCaSO4deposit.
