Aseriesofsolarradiationtestsforthepolytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)bulkandfilmsampleswerecarriedoutusingQ-SUNXE-3-HSCtypeSolarRadiationSimulator,withthetestparametersasfollows:radiationintensityis1120W/m~2,temperatureis55℃andhumidityis70%RH.Surfacemorphology,compositionandmicrostructureofthePTFEsamplesbeforeandafterradiationtestswerecharacterizedcontrastively.EffectofsolarradiationonthetribologyandwettingpropertiesofPTFEwerealsostudiedbytribometerandcontactangletester,respectively.Theresultsshowthat,forradiatedPTFE,surfaceroughness,therelativecontentofCelement,thefrictioncoefficientsandthecontactanglewithwaterincreasedinvaryingdegrees.Inconclusion,theobviouschangeinPTFEsamplescanbemainlyattributedtobreakof(CFx)-CbondsafterbombardmentofhighenergyUVphotons,whichcausesthelossofF-richgroups,oxidation,crosslinkingandrestructuringofactiveunsaturatedgroups.
