Fromaneconomicangle,thispaperanalyzesanddemonstratestheirrationalityofthecurrentInternetsettlementofInterconnection;thenpointsoutthattheheavychargesforInternetinterconnectionfromdevelopingcountriestothedevelopedcountrycanbethoughtofasoneofthemainandkeyreasonsthatrestrictthebalanceddevelopmentoftheInternetintheworld,whichcausestheintensificationof'digitalpide',widensthegapbetweenpoorandrichcountriesandfurtheraggravatesthedisequilibriumoftheglobaleconomicdevelopment;andthustheconclusionisreached:thepublicpolicyselectionshouldbemadebythewholeinternationalsocietyjointlyforpayingcloseattentionandregulatingsettlementsystemsofInternetinterconnectiontodwindle'digitalpide'throughouttheworld.
