一、教材分析

本课是新目标英语九年级第八单元第二课时。本单元围绕I'llhelpcleanupthecityparks开展多种教学活动,让学生学会用I'llhelpdosth.句型来回答别人的询问和告诉别人自己帮助他人的经历。本课时是一节阅读与口语课,是在学习了帮助他人的方式和大量的听力训练后展开教学的。通过巩固上课所学的短语并进行会话练习,使学生学会给他人提供帮助,通过阅读训练,进一步加深对目标语言的理解和运用。

二、教学目标

1.知识目标

(1)学习单词和词组。major,commitment,veterinarian,hometo,severalhoursaweek,after-schoolcarecenter,put...togooduse,spendtimedoingsth.,notonly...butalso...

(2)掌握句子。Whatdoyoulikedoing?Youcouldhelpcoachasoccerteamoflittlekids.NotonlydoIfeelgoodabouthelpingotherpeople,butIgettospendtimedoingwhatIlovetodo.

2.能力目标

提高学生的听、说、读、写及自学能力。本课以阅读为主,读的目标是能读懂有关志愿者内容的文章,并在此基础上完成获取相关信息、回答问题等任务。写的目标是学生能在阅读相关范文的基础上模仿并创造性地写作,能进行话题性的书面交流。说的目标是学生能根据所给的信息表达出自己想通过怎样的方式帮助他人。

3.情感目标

通过阅读与丰富的讨论交流,使学生懂得帮助他人的重要性,进一步激发学生学习英语、热爱生活的激情。

4.策略目标

(1)善于抓住用英语交流的机会。

(2)积极参与,善于合作。

三、教学重难点

1.重点

掌握重点词汇及重点句型的用法,学会用目标语言写作。

2.难点

熟练运用句型helpdosth.表达自己的想法,并帮助学生选择他们的志愿者工作。
