Severalchannelde-allocationschemesforGSM/GPRS(GeneralPacketRadioService)networksareproposedinthispaper.ForDRA(DynamicalResourceAllocation)withde-allocationmechanism,ifanewvoicecallarrivesandfindsthatallthechannelsarebusy,thenoneoftheGPRSpacketswhichoccupymorethanonechannelfordatatransmissionmayreleaseachannelforthenewvoicecall.Thispaperpresents5de-allocationmechanisms,i.e.DA-RANDOM,DA-RICHEST,DA-POOREST,DA-OLDESTandDA-YOUNGEST,toselecttheGPRSpacketforreleasingtheappropriatechannel.SimulationresultsshowthatDAOLDESTachievesthebestperformance,especiallyinpacketsblockingprobability,amongallthede-allocationschemes.Althoughtheperformanceoftheproposedde-allocationschemesisnotsignificantlydifferent,theyareallmuchbetterthanthatoftheschemewithoutde-allocation.
