教材分析

This class is about the description of the appearance of a person. So it's difficult for the students to describe a person because when a person is described ,many new words are used,.

学情分析

Junior 1 middle school students are poor in English vocabulary, so it is easy to use Chinglish and confuse the usage of some words. In order to make sure that the students learn it well ,we should use YHGD teaching method and train the ability of listening and speaking, reading telling stories and

self -learning .

1.Knowledge Aims: New Words:

(1)5 nouns: art ist (n.) crime (n.) cri mi nal (n.) way (n.) end (n.)

(2) 2 verbs: put (v.)n des cribe(v.)

(3)2 pronouns :each (adj. or pron. ) an other (adj. or pron.);

(4)1 adverb: di ffe rent ly (adv.);

(5) 1 adjective: real

2.Capacity Goals; Let the students learn to read newspaper articles.

3.Emotional Aims: Train the students to like to be a police artist to defend the security of our country.

Today ,I am your new English teacher ,so I want to know something about you and your family. Can you give me some help?

Let the students say some words to describe the appearance of a person.

The students think and say out what they know.

This activity is aimed to arouse what the students have known in order to make pre-parations for the further reading.

Step 4

New Words

( 7′)

The teacher uses word cards to teach them 10 new words. After that ,the students follow the tape and read the new words.

The students see Chi-nes and say Eng-lish;They see English and say Chinese again and again.

Word cards are used to learn words better than vocabulary list,

because English and Chinese don′t ap-pear at the same time which is useful to set up the links be-tween English and Chinese.

Reading

(20′)

1.Listen to the tape of Part 1 and read it and then answer the following questions: (1) What job does Joe Brown have?(2) What does a police artist do every day ? (3)What do the words in bold “He,it,him”refer to?

2.Listen to the tape of Part 2 and answer the following questions: (4) Why is Joe Brown'job sometimes difficult ?(5) Which picture shows the real criminal ? (6) )What do the words in bold “this,they,He”refer to?

3.Language Points: (1) (in) the same way ;(2) in the end (using the micro lessen)

4Read the text.

The students listen to it

and then read it carefully ,write down the answers and then share his or her answers

in his or her group lf necessary.

The students listen and watch the video shows and take notes in their notebook.

Before reading it , the students listen to the tape in order to reduce the difficulty of the reading material and build up reading in-terest

Language points are aimed to enlarge the students’ English knowledge.
