Edgeplasmacharacteristicswerestudiedbyafast-scanning4-probearrayandaMach/Reynoldsstress/Langmuir10-probemovablearrayintheboundaryregion.Theseprobescouldmeasuretheedgeplasmatemperature,density,poloidalelectricfield,radialelectricfield,Reynoldsstress,poloidalrotationvelocitiesandtheirprofiles,whichcouldbeobtainedbychangingtheradialpositionsoftheprobearrayshotbyshot.Themeasuredresultswereusedtoanalyseplasmaconfinement,turbulentfluctuationsandcorrelations.Thefixedflush3-probearraysweremountedonthe4-pertorneutralizationplatesatthesametoroidalcross-sectioninthepertorchamber.Theseprobeswereusedtomeasuretheprofilesoftheelectrontemperature,densityandfloatpotentialinthepertorchamber.Edgeplasmabehavioursinbothlimiterconfigurationandpertorconfigurationarecompared.Thedecaylengthsoftheedgetemperatureanddensityweremeasuredandisemphasizedforplasmabehavioursofthesupersonicmolecularbeaminjectionandlowerhybridcurrentdrive.ThedependenceoftheradialgradientofReynoldsstressonthepoloidalflowandtheradialgradientoftheelectricfieldonturbulentlossarediscussed.
