Abstract: With the acceleration of urbanization, the vernacular culture and architectural landscape are facing disappearance and disintegration. In this paper, the exterior design of the new vernacular architecture under Yimeng Mountain combines the architectural features of the north, incorporates modern lifestyles and concepts, reinvents rural memories, and brings a new rural architectural experience. By analyzing the features of architectural design, building location, connotation and shape, plant configuration, material interface and other design strategies, the combination with the cultural background and natural environment can be achieved.

Keywords: new vernacular, Yimeng Mountains, modern architecture, exterior design

I. yi meng mountainous area of new vernacular architecture exterior design of the selected topic source and design concept

In the wave of globalization, the architecture of Yimeng Mountain is gradually declining, and some of the old houses have been left vacant, or even collapsed into ruins. A large number of traditional buildings and traditional villages are disappearing, and the vernacular architecture is turning into uniform concrete. This paper uses the concept of modern vernacular to introduce new functions into the architectural space based on local resources.

II. Site selection for the exterior design of new vernacular architecture in Yimeng Mountains

The site of this project is located in the famous revolutionary Yimeng Mountains. The choice of "Yimeng Mountain" was based on a strong love for the local folklore of Yimeng Mountain and the experience of traveling to the Yimeng Mountain region. The vernacular houses in the Yimeng Mountains are located close to the river and are scattered with stone houses, stone bridges, stone mills and stone grinding mills, which reflect the stone elements and the ancient, distant and primitive style everywhere.

III.The theme content of the design of the new vernacular architecture in Yimeng Mountain area

3.1 Yinmeng Mountain new vernacular architecture exterior design connotation and shape

In this study, we designed the exterior of the buildings in the Yimeng Mountains, with the theme of "new vernacular" as a clue, and carried out a series of architectural ideas. The Yimeng Mountains have a very rich natural landscape, and through the research of the surrounding environment, we created a space that is in harmony with the surrounding environment. By extracting the elements, the building is made of limestone rock, which is used for building houses in the village, and is shaped like a rectangular box stacked on top of each other, spreading along the mountainous terrain. The geometric shapes of the roofs undulate against each other, reflecting the magnificent mountain scenery and the clouds and rivers that have accumulated for hundreds of years, and the appearance of the building reflects the toughness of the mountains, the tenderness of the water and the ruggedness of the stones. The architectural style, building colors, building materials, interior and other thematic content are cleverly combined with the environment.

3.2 Plant Configuration in Yimeng Mountain

Linyi City is located in the middle latitudes, belonging to the warm temperate monsoon zone continental climate. Coniferous forests are represented by oil pine, alder pine, black pine, Japanese larch, side cypress and spruce, etc. Broad-leaved forests have acacia as the most common plant community, Canada poplar, two poplars, various European and American poplars and dry willow as the common trees in the depression.

3.3 New Native Design Materials and Interfaces in Yimong Mountains

The vernacular architecture comes from the regional beauty of different cultures, and stone is the most used building material for local houses. Local stones, old tiles, timber and rammed earth are used as the basic building materials, which are chiseled by the craftsmen to keep the façade natural, but also to pursue the bite of the stones. The ground and foundation of the building are made of local green slabs, while the pedestrian path restores the village's water seepage function. The road is paved with old stone slabs and combined with stones, which not only seeps water but also satisfies the need for no mud in the rain. Thus maintaining the continuity with the architectural landscape of the mountainous ancient village.

The interior of the building is made of clear water concrete and the exterior of the building is made of Yimeng Mountain limestone schist, which not only guarantees the purity of the interior exhibition space, but also ensures the unity of the exterior and the architectural style of the old village. All the exterior stone walls are made of limestone schist, and the top beams of the long windows are made of traditional handicraft, with several pieces of stone holding up the top stone wall. The beauty of the countryside is taken from its roots, creating a building that blends harmoniously with its surroundings. These simple yet nostalgic elements of the local architecture meet the needs of modern people for comfort, while restoring the life style of the Yimeng Mountains.

IV. Conclusion

The vernacular continues in a modern vernacular way, the form is modern and the material and spiritual content is vernacular. Based on the new vernacularism vision of the Yimeng mountain building exterior design, we hope to combine the field situation to achieve the sustainable development of rural landscape design. In today's urbanization of rural landscape design, the design strategy that incorporates the new vernacular concept can make positive exploration for the continuation of tradition while respecting the local culture.
