TheIndiaplate(scontinuousmotiontothenorth,theconvectiveremovaltothethickeninglithospherecausedbysmall-scalemantleconvectionandtheeffectofdenudationontheupliftedplateauareregardedasmaindrivingforcesthatmakethepatternsofstressfieldofEastAsiacontinentatpresenttime.ThemethodofnumericalsimulationisusedtostudythedeformationandthestressfieldofEastAsiacontinentunderdifferentboundaryconditions,differentdenudationcoefficientsanddifferentrockmechanicsparameterswithinatrapezoidgeologicalframe.Comparingwiththeresultsobtainedbymodernspacegeodetictechnique(suchasGPS)theresultsderivedfromseismologicaldatashowthatthepredicteddatabyourmodelcanfitthemverywell.Thedegreeofthefitnessinthewestisbetterthanthatintheeast.TheseresultsimplythatthemaindrivingforceofthedeformationandthestresspatternsofthewestpartofEastAsiacontinentmaycomefromthecollisionandcompressionbetweentheIndiaandtheEurasiaplates.TheinteractiontothePacificandthePhilippinesplatesintheeastpartneedtobeconsidered.Italsoshowsthattheconvectiveremovaltothethickeninglithospherecausedbysmall-scalemantleconvectionandtheeffectofdenudationcannotbenegligibleintheevolutionofthestresspatterns.
