Thispaperdealswiththedesignandperformanceanalysisofthetransmissionprecoderoptimizationformultiple-inputmultiple-output(MIMO)systemswithlimitedfeedbackofchannelstateinformation(CSI).Weassumethatthereceivercangetperfectchannelknowledgebychannelestimationwhilethetransmitteronlyhaspartialchannelknowledgefromlimitedfeedback.Wepresentaminimummeansquareerror(MMSE)criterionbasedcodebookconstructionalgorithmforMIMOpre-codedspatialmultiplexingsystemsunderaspecificaveragepowerconstraint.Theoptimaltransmitterstructureisemployedinthispaper.SimulationresultsshowthattheMMSEcriteriabasedcodebookconstructionalgorithmwithhybriddesignofpowerallocationandprecodingcanachievebetterperformancethanthatofequalpowerallocationbasedcodebookofpreviousresearch.
