Abstract: With the rapid development of China's economy and culture, the education level of students has received widespread attention. Parents, in order for their children to achieve excellent grades, also lead them to participate in a large number of extracurricular tutoring activities after completing daily school learning activities, which brings great academic pressure to students. Both the psychological resilience of students and their daily learning status will be severely affected, and it will also bring significant economic pressure to parents. In this context, China has proposed a dual reduction policy, focusing on reducing the learning pressure on students and actively correcting the disorderly development of extracurricular tutoring classes in China. In the context of dual reduction, it is necessary to effectively reduce burden and increase efficiency. Deeply and professionally grasp the overall content of the textbook, starting from the new curriculum reform standards for primary school English, accurately positioning English learning goals based on the actual situation of students, and achieving efficient unit integration teaching.

1、 The Importance of Integrated Teaching of Primary School English Units under the Background of Double Reduction

Integrated teaching of English units is to carry out overall chemical activities based on units. In primary school English textbooks, each unit has an independent topic content, and teachers can rationalize the pision of actual classroom teaching content around this unit topic, which becomes the main line of fully exploring unit teaching and formulating overall and unit oriented classroom teaching objectives. The rich implementation of integrated teaching in primary school English units has played a very important role in students' learning, mainly including the following points:(1) Implementing innovative development in English teaching

The implementation of unit integration teaching can make the classroom teaching content more comprehensive from the perspective of the overall textbook. Under the dual reduction policy, it is advocated to reduce the learning pressure on students and avoid heavy and numerous homework, making classroom teaching efficiency particularly important. How to improve teaching efficiency and quality within a limited time has become a topic that every teacher needs to explore in depth. The integration of teaching units not only ensures the integrity of classroom teaching, but also helps students better understand and master English knowledge, permeates the cultural content involved in textbooks, and truly reflects the educational value of primary school English curriculum. In the context of double reduction, teachers should pay more attention to the learning experience of students, and be able to effectively integrate English language knowledge with vocabulary and grammar through the design of realistic teaching scenarios in the classroom, continuously enhancing students' flexible application ability of knowledge, greatly enhancing their enthusiasm for English learning, and achieving innovative development of classroom teaching.

2. Effectively avoiding the drawbacks of traditional teaching

Throughout the traditional English teaching curriculum in primary schools in China, teachers have focused more on improving students' English learning performance, thus placing emphasis on vocabulary and grammar teaching, neglecting students' overall understanding of English text content, emphasizing the explanation of basic knowledge in the classroom, and neglecting the practical application of English knowledge. As a result, classroom teaching lacks overall coherence, and students only learn some vocabulary and grammar knowledge in scattered ways, unable to integrate them together. At the same time, in traditional classrooms, teacher explanations are often the main focus, and students are in a passive learning state. Faced with some problems, they are unable to provide their own unique insights. Elementary school students are in a lively and active stage, and their thinking and mind are also in the early stages of development.

3. Develop unit integration teaching objectives

In primary school English textbooks, each unit has a topic, and in the teaching process, teachers should focus on cultivating students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities. However, due to the limitations of classroom teaching time, it is not possible to achieve a comprehensive approach. In the process of unit integration teaching, teachers can set more targeted teaching objectives for different unit topics and selectively cultivate students' English learning abilities.

For example, in the process of teaching English in the first volume of fifth grade, there are a total of six units of content, and teachers can set teaching objectives with different focuses based on the specific teaching content of each unit. When teaching the relevant knowledge content of the "My week" unit, teachers can pay more attention to the cultivation of students' writing ability.

4.Building Unit Integration and Differentiated Teaching

Each student in the class is an independent inpidual, with different learning foundations and abilities. If teachers choose a unified teaching mode, some students may not understand and some may not learn enough. Especially under the double reduction policy, classroom teaching becomes particularly important as students no longer have after-school tutoring classes. Teacher unit integration teaching should be aimed at all students and actively design gradient and layered unit integration teaching activities.

In summary, implementing unit integration teaching in primary school English teaching can effectively improve classroom teaching efficiency and quality, which is also in line with the requirements of the new era's double reduction policy. Under the unit topic, it is possible to continuously and effectively improve students' language skills, enhance their thematic learning, and achieve teaching from shallow to deep, with targeted organization of rich English learning activities for students.
