Supportedbygeographicalinformationsystem,usingCostanzamethodandreferringtoterrestrialecosystemservicevalueinChina,theinfluenceoflanduseandlandcoverchange(LUCC)between1980and2000onecosystemservicevalueintheupandmiddlereachesofDongtingLakebasinwasanalyzedinthisstudy.Theresultsshowedthattheestimatedvalueofecosystemservicesdecreased8.4169×108CNYovera21-yearperiod,andthemainreasonswerethatthelandforforestusewasexploitedforcroplandandconstructionlanduseinstudyarea.Furtheranalysisresultsshowedthatthevalueofsingleecosystemservicefunctionsuchasgasregulation,climateregulation,soilformationandconservation,biopersityconservation,rawmaterialsaswellasrecreationdecreasedsignificantly;andthatofprovisionofwaterconservation,wastetreatmentandfoodproductionincreasedobviouslyinthearea.Theresultsofcoefficientsensitivityanalysisindicatedthattheseestimateswerereliable.
