BasedonthesituationthatthetradeofmanufacturedgoodstakesthemainpositioninShandongProvince,thispaperidentifiesShandongindustrialpollutantdischargebythreeindices,whichareindustrialeffluentdischarge,industrialSO2emission,andsolidwastedisposal.Furthermore,itconductsanempiricalanalysisofthetradetermsofpollutioncontenttransferonnineidentifiedindustrialsectors.Theconclusionisthattheincreaseinindustrialeffluentdischarge,industrialSO2emission,andsolidwastedisposalhasparalleledthegrowthoftheGDPinShandong.Therapideconomicgrowthbringsobviousnegativeimpactontheenvironment.Comparedwiththatin1998,theincreaseinthepollutioncontentofexportsin2007indicatedthatmoreenvironmentalcostsweregeneratedwiththeeconomicdevelopmentinShandong.ThereisaneedforoptimizationofforeigntradestructureinShandong,especiallytheneedforincreasingimportofthepollutionintensiveproductsanddecreasingtheexportofthepollutionintensiveproducts.Theresearchontherelationshipbetweenmanufacturedgoodstradeandtheenvironmentalimpactwillmakeacontributiontotheadjustmentofforeigntradeandenvironmentalpolicies.
