Themoisturetransportincrackedcement-basedmaterialswasinvestigatedwithprioritybynumericalsimulation.Thecrackedcement-basismaterialwastreatedastwocomponentssystem,includingthecracksandcementitiousmortar.Themassbalancebetweenthewaterinthecracksandinthecementmortarwasconsidered.Fromthemodelingresults,itwasseenthatthewaterorvaporfilledthecrackimmediatelywhenthecrackedcementitiousmortarwasputintocontactwiththewaterorvapor.Thewater/vaporpenetratesintothemortarfromthecracksurfaces,aswellastheexternalsurfaceexposedintheoutsidecondition.Theexistenceofcracksincreasesthepenetrationofwater/vaporintothecementitiousmortar.Asthebasisforstudyingtheself-healingincrackedconcrete,thesimulationonmoisturetransportprovidedimportantinformationaboutthewaterdistributionandmovementinsidethecrackedconcrete.
