Themeanshifttrackerhasdifficultyintrackingfastmovingtargetsandsuffersfromtrackingerroraccumulationproblem.Toovercomethelimitationsofthemeanshiftmethod,anewapproachisproposedbyintegratingthemeanshiftalgorithmandframe-differencemethods.Theroughpositionofthemovingtargetisfirstlocatedbythedirectframe-differencealgorithmandthree-frame-differencealgorithmfortheimmobilecamerascenesandmobilecamerascenes,respectively.Then,themeanshiftalgorithmisusedtoachieveprecisetrackingofthetarget.Severaltrackingexperimentsshowthattheproposedmethodcaneffectivelytrackfirstmovingtargetsandovercomethetrackingerroraccumulationproblem.
