  • 简介:First,Wirsching'smodel,whichiswidelyemployedinfatiguereliabilityanlysisofmarineandoffshorestructures,isanalysedsystematically.Itisfoundthattheveryimportantrandomvariable△inWirsching'smodelcannotbedirectlydeterminedfromfatigueexperimentbecauseoftheirreversibilityoffatiguetest,andinfact,whatWirschingstudiedfromtestingresultsisnot△butαofthestatisticalMiner'srule.Second,byuseofthestatisticalMiner'srule,amodifiedWirsching'smodelisproposed.Thirdlyandmoreimportantly,basedonthetwo-dimensionalprobabilisticMiner'srule,anewmodelisestablishedforfatiguereliabilityanalysisofstructuralcomponentssubjectedtospecifiedcyclicloadingofvariableamplitudeorstochastictimehistory.Intheend,anexampleispresented,fromwhichitwillbeseenthatthisnewmodelisveryconvenienttouseandfeasibletoengineeringpractice.

  • 简介:Thispaperpresentsfatiguecharacteristicanalysisofadeepwatersteelcatenaryriser(SCR)underambientexcitations.TheSCRinvolvescomplexnonlineardynamicbehaviors,especiallyatthetouchdownpoint(TDP)wheretheriserfirsttouchestheseafloor.Owingtothesignificantinteractionwithsoil,thetouchdownzoneisdifficulttobemodeled.BasedonLumped-MassmethodandP-ycurve,nonlinearspringsareusedtosimulatetheSCR-seabedcoupledinteraction.Incasestudies,anSCR'sdynamicfeatureshavebeenobtainedbytransientanalysisandthestructurefatigueassessmenthasbeencarriedoutbyS-Napproach.ThecomparativeanalysisshowsthattheTDPisthekeylocationwheresoil-riserinteractionrisessteeplyandminimumfatiguelifeoccurs.Parameterssuchasoceanenvironmentloads,vesselmotions,risermaterialandgeometricparametersarediscussed.Theresultsindicatethatthevesselmotionistheprincipalfactorforthestructurefatiguelifedistribution.

  • 简介:ThefatigueflexuralperformanceofRCbeamsattackedbysaltspraywasstudied.Atestingmethodinvolvingelectroosmosis,electricalacceleratedcorrosionandsaltspraywasproposed.Thiscorrosionprocessmethodeffectivelysimulatesreal-worldsaltsprayandfatigueloadingexertedbyRCcomponentsonseabridges.FourRCbeamsthathavedifferentstressamplitudesweretested.ItisfoundthatdeteriorationbycorrosionandfatigueloadingreducesthefatiguelifeoftheRCanddecreasestheabilityofdeformation.Thefatiguelifeanddeflectionabilitycouldbereducedbyincreasingthestressamplitudeandthecorrosiondurationtime.Thetestresultdemonstratesthatthisexperimentalmethodcancouplecorrosiondeteriorationandfatigueloadingreasonably.ThisproceduremaybeappliedtoevaluatethefatiguelifeandconcretedurabilityofRCcomponentslocatedinanaturalsaltsprayenvironment.

  • 简介:Inordertoresearchthestrengtheningeffectsofaramidfiberreinforcedpolymer(AFRP)sheetsontheflexuralperformanceofcorrodedreinforcedconcrete(RC)beams,thestaticandfatigueperformanceofcorrodedRCbeamsstrengthenedwithnon-prestressedAFRPsheetsunderdifferentdegreesofcorrosion(minor:reinforcementmasslossis2.0%,medium:reinforcementmasslossis6.0%)havebeenresearchedexperimentallyinthispaper,tocomparewiththatofthecontrolbeams(un-strengthenedandun-corroded)andun-strengthenedcorrodedbeams,andadditionallycomparewithfatigueperformanceofthosemediumcorrodedRCbeamsstrengthenedwithprestressedAFRPsheetswithpermanentanchors.Theresultsshowthat,(1)comparedwithun-strengthenedcorrodedbeamsunderthesamedegreesofcorrosion,thecracking,yieldandultimatemonotonicloadsoftheminorcorrodedRCbeamstrengthenedwithnon-prestressedAFRPsheetsisrespectivelyincreasedby20%,27%and60%,whereasforthemediumcorrodedRCbeamstrengthenedwithnon-prestressedAFRPsheetsincreasedby15%,36%and83%respectively.Theultimatedeflectionofthemediumcorrodedbeamstrengthenedwithnon-prestressedAFRPsheetsis166%largerthanthatofthecorrodedun-strengthenedbeamunderthemonotonicload.(2)Thefatiguelifeofthenon-prestressedAFRPstrengthenedmediumcorrodedbeamis10.4timesmorethanthatoftheun-strengthenedcorrodedbeam,butlowerthanthatoftheunstrengthened-uncorroded(virgin)beam.(3)FatigueexperimentsofthebeamsstrengthenedwithprestressedAFRPsheetsandwiththosenon-prestressedAFRPsheetsshowthatthefatiguelifeoftheretrofitRCbeamsincreasewithincreasingprestresslevelofAFRPsheets.(4)TheuseofAFRPsheetsforstrengtheningcorrodedRCbeamsisanefficienttechniquethatcanmaintainthestructuralintegrityandenhancethestructuralbehaviorofsuchbeams.
