  • 简介:Inthispaper,accordingtotheFujianSeismicNetworkearthquakecatalogrecords,theTnowmethodandtheFourStationsContinuousLocationmethod(hereinaftercalledFSCL)putforwardbyJinXingareinspectedbyusingP-wavearrivalinformationofthefirstfourstationsofeachseismicevent.Resultsshowthatforearthquakeswithinthenetwork,bothmethodscanobtainsimilarlocationresultsandlocationdeviationsaresmallforthemajorityoftheevents.Forearthquakesoutsidethenetwork,thelocationdeviationmaybeamplifiedastheepicentraldistanceincreases,owingtotheseismicstationdistributionwhichspreadtowardthesideoftheepicenterandthesmallopeninganglebetweenseismicstationsusedforlocatingandepicenter.FortheFSCLmethod,theimpactsofthewavevelocityonthelocationresultsmaybesignificantforearthquakesoutsidethenetwork.Thus,selectingavelocitymodelwhichissimilartotheactualstructureofthewavevelocitywillcontributetoimprovinglocationresultsofearthquakes.TheFSCLmethodcanlocatemoreseismiceventsthantheTnowmethod.ItconcludesthattheTnowmethodmakesuseofmistakeinformationfromsomenon-triggeringstationsinearthquakecatalog,andsomeP-wavearrivalsarenotincludedintheearthquakecatalogduetodiscontinuousrecordsorunclearrecordsoftheseismicphase,whichinducesincorrectlocation.

  • 简介:Evaluationofthesound-structureinteractionisimportantforeffectivecontrolofnoiseandvibrationinstructuralacousticsystems.Crackedelasticstructure-soundinteractionproblemsarestudiedbyemployingthehybridfractalFEMandBEM.ThedegreesoffreedomofthesystemcanbereducedgreatlythroughadoptingfractalFEMindiscretizingthecrackedelasticstructure;whiletheexterioracousticfieldiscalculatedbyBEM,whichautomaticallysatisfiesSommerfeld'sradiationcondition.Numericalexamplesaregivenandshowthattheresonantfrequenciesofthestructure-acousticcoupledsystemdecreaseasthedepthofthecrackincreases,andthatthecrackhasasignificanteffectontheacousticalfieldinthevicinityofthecracktip.

  • 简介:Aftertheoccurrenceofanearthquake,strongmotionobservationnetworkscanrecordgroundmotionatdistributedobservationstations.Basedonthegroundmotionparametersfromtheserecords,thespatialdistributionofseismicintensitycanbequicklydetermined,andthedegreeofdamageindifferentareascanbeestimated.Thisinformationprovidesthetechnicalbasisfortheemergencyresponse,soastoensurethatrescueteamscanreachextremeearthquakeareasandcarryoutthesearchandrescueoperationinanaccurateandtimelymannertoreducecasualtiesandpropertyloss.Inthispaper,weintroduced7intensityalgorithmsandcomparedtheresultswiththerecordsoftheJiuzhaigouMS7.0earthquake.Wefoundthatthedifferencesbetweentheinstrumentalintensitiescalculatedbyeachmethodandthemacrointensitieswerewithina1-degreerange,whichsuggestedgoodpracticalityofthesedifferentmethods.Theresultscalculatedbytheindustrialstandards-basedcalculationmethodandtheintegratedtestshowedgoodconsistency.

  • 简介:TodeterminetheshearwavevelocitystructureandpredominantperiodfeaturesofT?naztepein?zmir,Turkey,wherenewbuildingsiteshavebeenplanned,active–passivesurfacewavemethodsandsingle-stationmicrotremormeasurementsareused,aswellassurfaceacquisitiontechniques,includingthemultichannelanalysisofsurfacewaves(MASW),refractionmicrotremor(ReMi),andthespatialautocorrelationmethod(SPAC),topinpointshallowanddeepshearwavevelocity.Forengineeringbedrock(V_s>760m/s)conditionsatadepthof30m,anaverageseismicshearwavevelocityintheupper30mofsoil(AV_s30)isnotonlyacceptedasanimportantparameterfordefininggroundbehaviorduringearthquakes,butaprimaryparameterinthegeotechnicalanalysisforareastobeclassifiedbyV_s30accordingtotheNationalEarthquakeHazardsReductionProgram(NEHRP).ItisalsodeterminedthatZ1.0,whichrepresentsadepthtoV_s=1000m/s,isusedforgroundmotionpredictionandchangedfrom0to54m.Thesediment–engineeringbedrockstructureforT?naztepethatwasobtainedshowsengineeringbedrocknodeeperthan30m.Whencompared,thedepthofengineeringbedrockanddominantperiodmapandgeologyaregenerallycompatible.

  • 简介:Usingatimeseriesmethodthatcombinesboththepersistentscattererandsmallbaselineapproaches,weanalyzed9scenesEnvisatASARdataovertheL’Aquilaearthquake,andobtainedaShocke’sdisplacementfieldanditsevolutionprocesses.Theresultsshowthat:(1)EnvisatASARclearlydetectedthewholeprocessesofdisplacementfieldoftheL’Aquilaearthquake,anddistinctvariationsatdifferentstagesofthedisplacementfield.(2)Preseismiccreepdisplacement?displacementmutationwhenfaulting?constantlysloweddownaftertheearthquake.(3)Theareaofthestrongestdeformationandgroundrupturewasalow-lyingovaldepressionregiontothesoutheast.Surfacefaultingwithinazoneofabout22km914km,withanorientationof135°,occurredalongtheNW-strikingandSW-dippingPaganica-S.Demetrionormalfault.(4)Inanalyzinganareaofabout54km959km,boundedbynorth–southaxistotheepicenter,thedisplacementfieldhassignificantcharacteristicsofawatershed:westwardoftheepicentershowsupliftwithmaximumof130mminline-of-sight(LOS),andeastoftheepicenterwasaregionwith220mmofmaximumsubsidenceintheLOS,concentratingontherupturezone,themajorityofwhichformedinthecourseoffaultingandsubsequence.
