  • 简介:AmarinestratigraphicsequenceacrossthePliocene/Pleistoceneboundaryhasbeenfoundinthenorth-erncontinentalshelfoftheSouthChinaSea.ThemarineQuaternarydepositsintheYinggehaiBasinmayex-ceed2,000minthickness,probablyprovidingthebestsectionforstudyingthelowerboundaryofthemarinePleistoceneinSouthChina.TheverticalsuccessionwithplanktonicforaminifersandnannofossilsrevealedinboreholesinthebasinhasbeenwellcorrelatedwiththatintheinternationalstratotypesectionofthePliocene/PleistoceneboundaryatVrica,Italy,resultingintheacquirementofabiostratigraphicboundaryat1.64Ma.Thisboundary,however,doesnotcoincidewithanyprominentlithologicalpalaeoenvironmentalchangesinthestudyareaandcanhardlybeusedingeologicalpractice.Thereare,incontrast,significantchangesatthelevelofLADofGloborotaliamulticameratasensulatolocatedbelowtheabove-mentionedboundary.Thepercentageofplanktonicforaminifersinthetotalpopulationandpreservationofforaminiferaltestsdisplaygreatchangesatthislevelcorrespondingtoaclearonlapontheseismicprofilesandindicatingadepositionalhiatusatca.2.0-2.5Ma.SincethelevelcanbewidelytracedinthePearlRiverMouthBasinandtheBeibuGulfBasinandwellcorrespondswiththemarkeddepositionalenvironmentalchangesrecordedinthewestPacificandotherregions,itisrecommendedthatthePlio/PleistoceneboundarybedrawnatthelevelofGr.multicameratasensulatoLAD,roughlyconcurrentwiththeGauss/Matuyamaturn.

  • 简介:Naturalgashydrates(NGH)isoneofkeyfuturecleanenergyresources.Itsindustrializeddevelopmentwillhelpremitthehugedemandofglobalnaturalgas,relievetheincreasingpressureoftheenvironment,andplayavitalroleinthegreensustainablegrowthofhumansocieties.Basedonnearlytwodecades'studyingonthereservoircharacteristicsintheSouthChinaSea(SCS)andtheknowledgeofreservoirsystem,theChinaGeologicalSurvey(CGS)conductedthefirstproductiontestonanoptimaltargetselectedinShenhuareaSCSin2017.Guidedbythe"three-phasecontrol"exploitationtheorywhichfocusedonformationstabilization,technologiessuchasformationfluidextraction,welldrillingandcompleting,reservoirstimulating,sandcontrolling,environmentalmonitoring,monitoringandpreventingofsecondaryformationofhydrateswereapplied.Thetestlastedfor60daysfromMay10^thwhenstartingtopump,droppressureandignitetowellkillingonJuly9^th,withgasproductionof3.09×10^5m^3intotal,whichisaworldrecordwiththelongestcontinuousdurationofgasproductionandmaximalgasyield.ThissuccessfultestbringsasignificantbreakthroughonsafetycontrolofNGHproduction.

  • 简介:Since2011,certainadvanceshavebeenmadethroughtheresourceinvestigation,metallogenesisresearch,miningsupervisionandenvironmentalprotectionofion-adsorptiontyperareearthelement(REE)depositinSouthChina.Firstly,someprogresshasbeenmadeinREEprospectinginJiangxi,Guangdong,GuangxiandYunnan.REEdepositsarenotonlyfoundwithintheweatheringcrustsofgranitesandfelsicvolcanicrocks,butalsowithintheweatheringcrustsofepimetamorphicrocksandbasicmagmaticrocks.Secondly,themethodsofexploration,delineatingorebodiesandcalculationofreserveshavebeenimproved,whichintuitivelyreflectthethickness,REEcompositionandvalueofweatheringcrust.Thirdly,therelationshipbetweenREEsandweatheringdegreeandtheruleofdistribution,migrationandenrichmentofREEsintheweatheringprofilewassummarizedthroughtheanalysisofbigdata,whichcanpredictthemetallogenetichorizonofREEs.Fourthly,amethodforquick,accurateanddynamicinvestigationoftheREEdeposithasbeenestablishedbyusinghighresolutionremotesensingtechnology.Finally,therelationbetweentheproductionstatusofREEminesandwaterpollutionhasbeenrevealedbasedonlong-termhydrochemicalmonitoringdataofriversandwellsinminesandsurroundingareas.
