Thisresearchstudiedtheinitiatorefficiencyforproducingpolymericparticlesofpoly(styrene-co-methylmethacrylate)copolymersbyaShirasuporousglassmembrane(SPG)emulsificationtechniquefollowedbysuspensioncopolymerization.BPO,ADVN,andAIBNwereusedasinitiatorsandwefoundthatBPOisthemostsuitableinitiator.Copolymersforvariousfeedratiosofstyrene/methylmethacrylatewerethussynthesizedbybenzoylperoxide,andtheircopolymerparticlesize,molecularweightdistributionandparticlesizedistributionwerecharacterized.Thenn-BMAor2-EHMAwasaddedasthethirdmonomertodecreasetheterpolymerglasstransitiontemperature.Thisarticledescribesthepreparationtechnique,recipesandpolymerizationconditionsforproducingbothcopolymerandterpolymerpanicles,particlesizechanges,thecorrespondingparticlemorphologiesandglasstransitiontemperatures.
