DedicatedexperimentsintheHT-7tokamakwereperformedtoinvestigatethein-fluenceoferosionanddepositiononthemirrorsamples.Thefirstmirror(FM)samplesmadeofpolycrystalline(PC)stainlesssteel(SS),molybdenum(Mo)andtungsten(W)werefixedonaholderatanangleof45withrespecttothehorizontalplaneandsetatdifferentlocationswithdifferentconnectionlengthsalongthemagneticfield.Theopticalreflectivityofthefirstmirrorwasmeasuredbyaspectrophotometerbeforeandafterplasmaexposure.Itwasfoundthatthesurfacemorphologyandspecularreflectivityofthemirrorsamplesaftertheexposureweredifferentwithrespecttothedifferentdistancesfromthemirrorsurfacetothelastclosedfluxsurface(LCFS)oftheplasmainthetokamak.Itwasalsofoundthatshorteningtheconnectionlengthbeforethemirrorsurfacewouldweakentheinfluenceoftheplasmaerosionandimpuritydepositiononthemirrorsurface.Inordertomaintaintheopticalcharacteristicsofthemirrorsurface,itisnecessarytoadoptthein-situcleaningandmirrorprotectiontechniques.
