Theinfluenceofoperatingparametersandtypeofzeolitecatalystsonformationofethyleneandpropyleneduringcatalyticpyrolysisofmethylcyclohexane(MCH)wasstudiedinalaboratoryfixedfluidizedbedreactor.TheresultsindicatedthathigherreactiontemperatureandlowerWHSVtendedtoproducemoreethyleneandpropylene,amongwhichthereactiontemperaturewasanimportantfactorinfluencingtheethyleneformation.ComparedwiththeFAUandBEAtypezeolites,theMFIstructuredzeolitecatalyst,thankstomoreacidsitesandsmallerporediameterofthecatalyst,wasconducivetotheformationofethyleneandpropylene.TheprotonationoccurredondifferentC—CbondsandC—HbondsinthecarbonchainofMCHledtodifferentproductslates,andtheprotonationonC—Cbondslocatedatnaphthenicringwasfavorabletotheformationofethyleneandpropylene.
