Thehazardassessmentofpotentialearthquake-inducedlandslidesisanimportantaspectofthestudyofearthquake-inducedlandslides.Inthisstudy,weassessedthehazardofpotentialearthquake-inducedlandslidesinHuaxianCountywithanewhazardassessmentmethod.ThismethodisbasedonprobabilisticseismichazardanalysisandtheNewmarkcumulativedisplacementassessmentmodel.Themodelconsidersacomprehensivesuiteofinformation,includingtheseismicactivitiesandengineeringgeologicalconditionsinthestudyarea,andsimulatestheuncertaintyoftheintensityparametersoftheengineeringgeologicalrockgroupsusingtheMonteCarlomethod.Unlikepreviousassessmentstudiesongroundmotionswithagivenexceedanceprobabilitylevel,thehazardofearthquake-inducedlandslidesobtainedbythemethodpresentedinthisstudyallowsforthepossibilityofearthquake-inducedlandslidesindifferentpartsofthestudyareainthefuture.Theassessmentofthehazardofearthquake-inducedlandslidesinthisstudyshowedgoodagreementwiththehistoricaldistributionofearthquake-inducedlandslides.Thisindicatesthattheassessmentproperlyreflectsthemacroscopicrulesforthedevelopmentofearthquake-inducedlandslidesinthestudyarea,andcanprovideareferenceframeworkforthemanagementoftheriskofearthquakeinducedlandslidesandlandplanning.
