Theanalysisoftheradiatednoiseofvesselsgiveninthispapershowssomestrongsuperposedlinecomponentsinlowfrequencyspeetrumbelow100Hzoccurringatdiscretefrequencieswhichcorrespondwiththerotationspeedofpropellershaft,orpropellerbladefrequency,ortheirharmonicfre-quencies.sincethelinecomponentsreflectpropeller'workingcharacteristics,thepropller'sfeaturescanbeextracteddirectlyfromlow-frequencylinecom-ponentsinadditiontodemodulatedlinecomponent.Sotherearetwowaystoextractthefeatures,oneisdirectway,theotherisdemodulationway.Detec-tionperformanceofthelinecomponentinbackground-noiseisdiscussedinthispaper.ThesignallevelisdefinedasthedifrerencebetweenthePDF's(ProbabilityDensityFunction)meanofthepeakofthelinecomponentandPDF'smeanorthebackground-noise.Indircetwaythesignallevelofthelinecomponentisproportionaltothesignalnoiseratio(S/N).Indemodulationwaythesignallevelofdemodulatedlinecomponent
