Thecurrentconceptof“AdoptiveTCellImmunotherapyofCancer”isquitedifferentfromhowitwasoriginallyconceived．Withthedevelopmentofmoderntechnologyinmolecularbiology,cellbiology，immunologyandbiochemistryduringthelasttwentyyearsorso，adoptiveimmunotherapyhasgrownfromitsinitialformofasimple“bloodcelltransfer”intoitspresentprocesswhichinvolveshostvauccination，effectorcellactivation／polarizationandgeneticmodification．Withtheuseofimmuneadjuvantsandtheidentification／characterizationoftumor-reactiveTcellsubsets，orincombinationwithothertherapeuticstrategies，adoptivelytransferredTcellshavebecomemuchmorepotentinmediatingtumorregression．Inaddition，studiesonthetraffickingofinfusedTcells，celltransferperformedinlymphopenicmodels，aswellasthediscoveryofnoveltechniquesinimmunemonitoringforthegenerationofeffectorcellsinvitroandaftercelltransferinvivohaveprovidedusefultoolstofurtherimprovethetherapeuticefficacyofthisapproach．ThisarticlewillreviewtheserelatedaspectsofadoptiveTcellimmunotherapyofcancerwithspecificcommentsoncertaincriticalareasintheapplicationofthisapproach．Withtherapidlyevolvingadvancesinthisarea，itishopedthatthiscellularimmunologictherapyasitwasconceptualizedinthepast，canbecomemoreusefulinthetreatmentofhumancancerinthenearfuture．
