Theobjectiveofthisstudywastoproducetheporouscollagen-chitosan/Glycosanminglycans(GAG)forcornealceil-seedimplantasathree-dimensionaltissueengineeringscaffoldtoimprovetheregenerationcorneas.Theeffectofvariouscontentofglycerolasformporousagenttocollagen-chitosan/GAGpreservedaporousdimensionalstructurewasinvestigated.Theheat-dryingwasusedtoprepareporouscollagen-chitosan/GAGscaffold.Theporemorphologyofcollagenchitosan/GAGwascontrolledbychangingtheconcentrationofglycerolsolutionanddryingmethods.TheporousstructuremorphologywasobservedbySEM.Thediameteroftheporesform10to50μm.Thehighlyporousscaffoldhadinterconnectingpores.Thecornealcellmorphologywasobservedunderthelightmicroscope.Theseresultssuggestthatcollagen-chitosan/GAGshowedthatcornealcellhaveformedconfluentlayersandresemblethesurfaceofnormalcornealcellsurface.
