Introduction Withrapiddevelopmentandadvancementofeconomyandsociety,lotsofcitygroupsorcitybeltswithex-tra-largecitiesastheircentershavebeenformedinChina.Theregionsthesecitygroupslieinusuallyhavewell-developedeconomy,densepopulation,andareregionalpoliticsandculturecenters.Somegroupslieintheregionswithhighlevelofearthquakeactivity,suchastheSurroundingCapitalCityGroupwiththecentersofBei-jingandTianjin.Oncealargeearthquakeoccurs,itsinfluencewillspreadtoveryextensiveregionanditsdisasterwillbetremendoustoo.Soearthquakeresistanceanddisastermitigationofcitygroupwillbeverysignificantissue.Thecitiesinagrouphaveclosedistancewitheachother;theycancarryoutunifiedpreparationfordisasterasonewholeandreducetheheavyloadofsinglecitybeforeanearthquake,andhaveanadvantageofpromptmutual-aidafteranearthquakebecauseofclosedistance.Itisespeciallysignificanttomitigatetheloseoflives.Oneimportantpreconditionisthatallthecitiesinonegroupcannotbeexposedtothesamelevelofdestroyduringoneearth-quake.Sothepisionofcitygroupintheregionwithdensecitiesdistributionshallbeverysignificanttotheemergentmutual-aidinearlytimeafteralargeearthquake.Forthisgoal,thecharacteristicsandcorrelativityofearthquake′simpactoncitiesinonegroupneedtoclearlybeconsidered.Thecitieswithsimilarfeaturesandstrongcorrelativityofhistoricalearthquakeinfluencehavelargechancetosuffersameleveldestroyduringthefuturestrongearthquakeandaredisadvantagetoprovidemutual-aidandshallnotbepidedintoonegroup. ……
