TheoriginallocationsandrelationshipsoffourplateswithinthemainlandofChinafrom800to600MaduringtheterminalPrecambrianwerereconstructedbasedonthepalaeomagneticandgeologicaldata.TheTarim,YangtzeandCathaysianplateswereoncelinked(in800-700Ma)andlocatedinthesamelow-latitudezoneofthenorthernhemisphere.Butlater,in700-600Ma,theTarimplatewasseparatedfromtheYangtze-Cathaysianplate.TheSino-KoreanplatewasalwaysfarawayfromtheYangtzeplate,bothbeingseparatedbyoceaniccrust,andlayinthehigh-latitudezoneofthenorthernhemisphere.Theabove-mentionedpalaeogeographicframeworkdirectlyledtocompletedifferencesinrespecttodistributionoflow-latitudeglaciation,sedimentaryfacies,palaeoclimate,palaeobiogeographyandstratigraphicsectionsbetweentheNorthandSouthChinadomainsduringtheterminalPrecambrian.
