ThisstudymainlyintroducesthetechnicalpropertiesofakindofleancoalminedfromLu'an,aprefectureofShanxiProvinceanditsapplicationtocoalinjectioninlarge-scaleblastfurnaces(BFs)inBaosteel.Chinaisrichinleancoalresources.Thetechnicalpropertiesofleancoal,includingashcontent,sulfurcontentandcaloricity,etc.,aresimilartothoseofanthracitecoalusedinBaosteel,exceptthefactthatthevolatileofleancoalishigher.Besides,theexplosivepropertyandthecokingpropertyofleancoalaresuitablefortheBFcoalinjection.Inthisstudy,leancoalwastestedinthepulverizedcoalinjection(PCI)ofaBF.Inthetest,theblendingproportionofleancoalinthecoalblendwasincreasedgradually,andtheconsequentialproductionindexesweretraced.AlltheoperationalindexesshowthattheresultsoftheBFcoalinjectionaregood,demonstratingthatleancoalcanbesubstitutedforanthracitecoalinthePCIinBFs.Withanabundantamountandspecificutilization,leancoalisfoundtobeofahigheconomicvalue.
