简介:AIM:Toevaluatetheeffectofreleasingtheorbicularisretainingligament(ORL)complexoftheteartroughcombinedwiththetransconjunctivalblepharoplastyinthesurgicalmanagementofteartroughdeformitycomparedwiththeeffectofblepharoplastyalone.METHODS:Aprospective,randomized(byclosedenvelopetechnique),controlledsurgicaltrialwhichincluded50patients(100eyes)withbilateralvisibleteartroughdeformityandlowereyelidfatbulging,wasdividedintotwogroupswhere25patients(50eyes)hadteartrough-ORLreleasewithblepharoplastyand25patients(50eyes)didn’t.Qualitativeandquantitativeassessmentsofteartroughdeformityweredoneat6mopostoperatively,achievinggrade0or1ofBarton’sclassificationwasconsideredasuccess.Standardizedphotographicdocumentationofeachpatientwasdonepreandpostoperatively,alsoassessmentofthepatients’satisfactionpostoperativelywasdoneandrankedasexcellent,verygood,goodorfair.RESULTS:Therewasstatisticallysignificantdifferencebetweenthetwogroupsintheoverallaestheticresultspostoperativelyregardingthequalitativeandquantitativeanalysisoftheteartroughdeformity,wherepatientswhohadteartrough-ORLcomplexreleasehadmoresuccessfuloutcomesthanthoseofthesecondgroup.CONCLUSION:ORLreleaseshouldbedoneinpatientswithteartroughdeformityinordertoreleasethetetheringeffectofthisligamentwhichcausestheprominenceofthenasojugalgroove.

简介:Growthmodelisanefficientwaytostudygrowingprocessofsomefactorsofplantsquantitatively.HeightgrowthofKoreanpine(Pinuskoraiensis)wasstudiedbyusingHyperbolaequation,Logisticequation,Richardsequationwiththreeparameters,andRichardsequationwithfourparametersinthispaper.TheresultsshowedthatRichardsequationwithfourparameterswasthemostsuitableandcouldbeturnedintoothertheoreticalequationswhensomeparametersweregivendifferentvalue.ThemaximumheightoftreescouldbegiveninadvancewhenusingRichardsequationwithfourparameters,anditwasevenmorecorrespondingtoreality.Inaddition,aheightgrowthmodelwithrealheightoffixedageasaparameterwasdiscussedinthispaper.Thiskindofgrowthmodelcouldbeusedtocalculateheightgrowthofagiventreeeffectively.

简介:Heightextractionforbuildingsisafundamentalstepof3Dscenereconstructioninmanyvirtualrealityapplications.Inthispaper,weproposeanautomaticmethodtoextracttheheightofbuildingsinhighresolutionsatelliteimagerybasedonthelengthofshadow.Takingintoaccountthelimitationoftraditionalalgorithms,wemakeuseoftheboundaryinformationofabuildingtofacilitatedetectingandmatchingtheshadowregionswithhigheraccuracy.Then,weintroduceashadow-castmodeltocorrecttheshadowlocationinoursystem.Theexperimentalresultshowsthatwhenextractingtheheightofbuildingsfromcomplexurbanregions,ourmethodhasbetteraccuracy.
简介:Forpredictionoftheextremesignificantwaveheightintheoceanareaswherelongtermwavedataarenotavailable,theempiricalmethodofextrapolatingshorttermdata(1~3years)isusedindesignpractice.Inthispapertwomethodsareproposedtopredictextremesignificantwaveheightbasedonshort-termdailymaxima.AccordingtothedaarecordedbytheOceanographicStationofLiaodongBayattheBohaiSea,itissupposedthatdailymaximumwaveheightsarestatisticallyindependent.Thedatashowthatdailymaximumwaveheightsobeylog-normaldistribution,andthatthenumbersofdailymaximavaryfromyeartoyear,obeyingbinomialdistribution.Basedonthesestatisticalcharacteristics,thebinomial-log-normalcompoundextremumdistributionisderivedforpredictionofextremesignificantwaveheights(50~100years).Forexaminationofitsaccuracyandvalidity,thepredictionofextremewaveheightsisbasedon12years′dataatthisstation,andbasedoneach3years′datarespectively.Theresultsshowthatwithconsiderationofconfidenceintervals,thepredictedwaveheightsbasedon3years′dataareveryclosetothosebasedon12years′data.TheobserveddatainsomeoceanareasintheAtlanticOceanandtheNorthSeashowitisnotcorrecttoassumethatdailymaximumwaveheightsarestatisticallyindependent;theyaresubjecttoMarkovchaincondition,obeyinglog-normaldistribution.Inthispaperananalyticalmethodisderivedtopredictextremewaveheightsinthesecases.AcomparisonofthecomputationsshowsthatthedifferencebetweentheextremewaveheightsbasedontheassumptionthatdailymaximaarestatisticallyindependentandthattheyaresubjecttoMarkovChainconditionissmallerthan10%.
