  • 简介:Thereisanobviousdeparturefromtheregionalequi-libriumofdevelopmentsbetweentheupperandlowerreachesofthePearlRiverinGuangdong,whichresultedin'theeffectsofcontra-geography-gradsdevelopment'.Itismainlybecausetheuprivermountainousareashavebeendeeplystuckinindustriali-zationdelayandmarginalizationplights,sothatnearly40millionlocalpeoplehaveconceivedadreamtogetridof'theviciouscircleofpoverty'byspeedingupindustrialdevelopment.Buttheproblemisthatsuchindustrializationeffortsonalargescaleinmountainousareasareencounteringthebottleneckofenviron-mentalcapacitythatstrictlylimitsindustrialemissionsalongtheupperreachesofanywatersystem.Asasolution,aninstitutionalarrangementcalled'theLocalAreaQuotasforIndustrialEmis-sionsalongthePearlRiver'isputforwardsupposedtogivecor-respondingcompensationtotherightsofindustrialdevelopmentyieldedbysomeareaswithlowerenvironmentalcapacitythroughthedistributionandtradingofIDQs.

  • 简介:Thirteensedimentcoresamples(0-10cm)weretakenfromthesevenlakesinthemiddleandlowerreachesoftheYangtzeRivertodeterminethecontentsanddistributionsoforganicphosphorus(P)fractionsinthesedimentsoftheshallowlakesinthearea.TheorganicPfractionsinthesedimentswereintheorderofmoderatelylabileorganicP(MLOP)>moderatelyresistantorganicP(MROP)>highlyresistantorganicP(HROP)>labileorganicP(LOP),withaverageproportionalratiosof13.2:2.8:1.3:1.0.LOP,MLOP,andMROPweresignificantlyrelatedtothecontentsoftotalorganiccarbon(TOC),water-solubleP(WSP),algal-availableP(AAP),NaHCO3-extractableP(Olsen-P),totalP(TP),organicP(OP),andinorganicP(IP).However,HROPwassignificantlyrelatedtoOPandweaklycorrelatedwithTOC,WSP,AAP,Olsen-P,TPorIP.ThissuggestedthatorganicP,especiallyLOPandMLOPinsediments,deservedevengreaterattentionthanIPinregardstolakeeutrophication.IntermsoforganicP,sedimentsweremorehazardousthansoilsinlakeeutrophication.AlthoughOPconcentrationswerehigherinmoderatelypollutedsedimentthanthoseinheavilypollutedsediment,LOPandMLOPwerehigherintheheavilypollutedsediment,whichindicatedthatheavilypollutedsedimentwasmorehazardousthanmoderatelypollutedsedimentinlakeeutrophication.

  • 简介:TheTaoerRiverbasinistheepitomeinthewestofNortheastChinaanditisoneofthemostfragileandsensitiveecoregions.Thus,protectionofwaterqualityoftheTaoerRiverisimportant.Notonlypointsourcepollutionbutnon-pointsource(NPS)pollutionresultsindeterioratingwaterquality.Inthisstudy,long-termhydrologicimpactassessmentmodelwasusedtoevaluatetheimpactsoflandusechangeimpactsonNPSpollution,andthereplacementcostmethodwasusedtocalculatetheeconomiclosscausedbyNPSpollution.ThroughanalyzingtheNPSpollutantloadsofdifferentlandcategoriesandtheeconomicloss,thearticleputsforwardthatthereexistsacloserelationshipbetweenland-usetypesandNPSpollution,andagriculturalpollutionisthemaincomponentoftheNPSpollutioninthisarea.Theresultsofthisstudycanprovidedecision-makingbasisforagriculturaldevelopmentandland-usechange.

  • 简介:Supportedbygeographicalinformationsystem,usingCostanzamethodandreferringtoterrestrialecosystemservicevalueinChina,theinfluenceoflanduseandlandcoverchange(LUCC)between1980and2000onecosystemservicevalueintheupandmiddlereachesofDongtingLakebasinwasanalyzedinthisstudy.Theresultsshowedthattheestimatedvalueofecosystemservicesdecreased8.4169×108CNYovera21-yearperiod,andthemainreasonswerethatthelandforforestusewasexploitedforcroplandandconstructionlanduseinstudyarea.Furtheranalysisresultsshowedthatthevalueofsingleecosystemservicefunctionsuchasgasregulation,climateregulation,soilformationandconservation,biodiversityconservation,rawmaterialsaswellasrecreationdecreasedsignificantly;andthatofprovisionofwaterconservation,wastetreatmentandfoodproductionincreasedobviouslyinthearea.Theresultsofcoefficientsensitivityanalysisindicatedthattheseestimateswerereliable.

  • 简介:Soilsalinityandhydrologicdatasetswereassembledtoanalyzethespatio-temporalvariabilityofsalinizationinFengqiuCounty,HenanProvince,China,inthealluvialplainofthelowerreachesoftheYellowRiver.Thesalinesoilandgroundwaterdepthdataofthecountyin1981wereobtainedtoserveasahistoricalreference.Electricalconductivity(EC)of293surfacesoilsamplestakenfrom2km×2kmgridsin2007and40soilprofilesacquiredin2008wasanalyzedandusedforcomparativemapping.OrdinarykrigingwasappliedtopredictECatunobservedlocationstoderivethehorizontalandverticaldistributionpatternsandvariationofsoilsalinity.Groundwatertabledatafrom22observationwellsin2008werecollectedandusedasinputforregressionkrigingtopredictthemaximumgroundwaterdepthofthecountyin2008.ChangesinthegroundwaterlevelofFengqiuCountyin27yearsfrom1981to2008wascalculated.Twoquantitativecriteria,themeanerrororbias(ME)andthemeansquarederror(MSE),werecomputedtoassesstheestimationaccuracyofthekrigingpredictions.Theresultsdemonstratedthatthesoilsalinityintheuppersoillayersdecreaseddramaticallyandthetaxonomicallydefinedsalinesoilswerepresentonlyinafewmicro-landscapesafter27years.Presently,thesoilswithrelativelyelevatedsaltcontentweremainlydistributedindepressionsalongtheYellowRiverbed.Thereductioninsurfacesoilsalinitycorrespondedtothelocationswithdeepenedmaximumgroundwaterdepth.Itcouldbeconcludedthatgroundwatertablerecessionallowedwatertomovedeeperintothesoilprofile,transportingsaltswithit,andthusplayedanimportantroleinreducingsoilsalinityinthisregion.Accumulationofsaltsinthesoilprofilesatvariousdepthsbelowthesurfaceindicatedthatsecondarysoilsalinizationwouldoccurwhenthegroundwaterwasnotcontrolledatasafedepth.

  • 简介:AfteroperationoftheThreeGorgesProject(TGP),thereisanewevolutiontendencyforriversandlakesinthemiddlereachesoftheYangtzeRiver(i.e.theChingRiverreaches).Inrecentyears,theweakeningconnectionrelationshipbetweentheYangtzeRiverandDongtingLakehasresultedinaseriesofproblemsforfloodregulation,waterresourcesutilization,andaquaticecosystemprotectionintheriver-lakejointarea.Inthispaper,thehydrologicalcharacteristicsandfluvialprocesseswithintheriver-lakejointareaarestudied,andpossiblemanagementstrategiestomaintaintheconnectedriver-lakerelationshipareproposed.Toachievethisobjective,theevolutiontendency,suchasthezero-flowproblemandriverregimeforthreemajoroutlets(i.e.theSongziOutlet,TaipingOutlet,andOuchiOutlet)toDongtingLakefromtheYangtzeRiver,isanalyzed.ItisbelievedthattheSongziOutlethasacomparativeadvantageinflowdiversionovertheothertwooutlets.TheRangeofVariabilityApproachisintroducedtoidentifyhydrologicalcharacteristicsattheSongziOutlet.Severalcharacteristicvaluesofflowdiversionfromthisoutletduringdroughtperiodsaredetermined.Then,thefluvialprocessesintheriver-lakejointareaarestudiedbycomparingtopographicmapsandusingcontrolgaugestationdataofvariousyears.ThewaterandsedimentfluxareanalyzedbeforeandafteroperationoftheTGP.Finally,basedontheresultsobtained,twopossiblemanagementstrategiesarerecommendedandcorrespondingparametersareestimatedtostrengthenandmaintaintheconnectedriver-lakerelationship.ThisanalysistakesintoaccountoperationoftheTGP,mainstreamshiftandincreasingriverbedscourintheChingRiverchannel.Torestoretheflowdiversionconditiontothatinthe1950sor1960s(i.e.140m3/sofflowdiversioncorrespondingto5500m3/sofflowattheZhichengstation),itisestimatedthattheriverchannelaroundtheSongziOutletshouldbedredged1.4munderthecurrentriverbedsituatio
