Tubinecascadeoptimumdesign,thetypicalnon-convexoptimalproblem,haslongbeenadesignchallengeintheengineeringfields.ThenewtypehybridGeneticAlgorithms-wholeannealingGeneticAlgorithmshavebeendevelopedinthispaper,Simulatedannealingselectionandnon-uniformmutationareadoptedinthewholeannealingGeneticAlgorithms.WholeannealingGeneticAlgorithmsoptimalperformancehavebeentestedthroughmathematicaltestfunctions.Onthisbasis,turbinecascadeinversedesignusingwholeannealingGeneticAlgorithmshaebeenpresented.TheB-Splinefunctionisappliedtorepresentthecascadeshape,C-typegridandGodunovschemeareadoptedtoanalysisthecascadeaerodynamicperformance.Theoptimalproblemaimstoobtainancascadeshapefromdifferentinitialcascadethroughthegiventargetpressuredistribution.Theoptimumcascadeshapeisinwellagreementwiththetargetcascadeshape.ThenumericalresultsshowthatthewholeannealingGeneticAlgorithmsarethepowerfuloptimumtoolsforturbineoptimumdesignorothercomplexengineeringdesignproblems.
