简介:ThispaperaimstopresentanexperimentdevelopedinatechnologydegreecollegeinS?oPaulo:thefreshmenintegrationandremedialclassesweek.Thisworkwasdevelopedduetothedropoutratethatoccurredinseveralcourses.The50%dropoutratewascollectedthroughasampleofthefirstsemesterfrom2012to2014.Thiscollegehascoursesinweldingtechnology,mechanicalmanufacturing,industrialautomationandrefrigeration,airconditioning,andventilationandheating.Itisapubliccollege.Astheyarecoursesoftheareaofmechanicalengineering,theirfirstsemestersconsistofcalculus,physics,chemistry,statistics,andotherdisciplinesthatrequiresolidknowledgebackgroundfromseniorhighschool.Thisisnottherealityfortheprofileofincomingstudents.Ninety-fivepercentofthestudentscomefrompublicschools.Remedialclassesweekiscomprisedofremedialclassesonmathematics,motivationallectures,presentationoftheacademic,andjobmarketarea,aswellasintegrationwithveteranstudents,teachers,andcoordinators.Thisworkbeganin2014andtherewas35%evasionreduction.

简介:Background:Apreviousstudyhasreporteda50%reductionindisuseatrophyofthequadricepsduringthefirst14daysafteranteriorcruciateligament(ACL)reconstruction.Afollow-uptrialisneededtoconfirmthesepromisingresults.ThepresentstudyaimstoinvestigatetheeffectofanocclusionstimulusonquadricepsatrophyafterACLreconstruction.Methods:Atotalof24subjectsparticipatedinthestudy.Theywererandomizedintotwogroups.Startingthe2nddayaftersurgery,theocclusiongroupreceivedanocclusionstimulusfor5min,followedbyremovaloftheocclusivepressurefor3min.Thiswasrepeatedfivetimesinonetrainingsession,twicedaily.Duringtheperiodofocclusivestimulus,thesubjectsperformed20lowloadexercisesforthequadriceps.Thecontrolgroupfollowedthesameexerciseprotocol,butwithouttheocclusionstimulus.Changesinquadricepsanatomicalcrosssectionarea(ACSA)weremeasuredusingaxialmagneticresonance(MR)imagesat40%and50%ofthelengthofthefemur.Results:BothgroupshadasignificantreductionofquadricepsACSAfrom2daysbeforesurgeryto16daysaftersurgery.Duringtheinterventionperiod,theocclusiongrouplost13.8%±1.1%(mean±SEM)andthecontrolgrouplost13.1%±1.0%oftheirquadricepsACSA,respectively.Therewasnosignificantdifferencebetweentheocclusionandcontrolgroupswithregardstoatrophyofthequadricepsmuscles.Conclusion:Inconflictwithotherstudiesusingasimilarprotocol,applicationofbloodflowrestrictionthefirst14daysafterACLreconstructiondidnotreducequadricepsACSAmuscleatrophymeasuredbyMRinapopulationofathletes.
简介:Outdoorairpollutionisaknownriskfactorformortalityandmorbidity.Thetypeofairpollutantmostreliablyassociatedwithdiseaseisparticulatematter(PM),especiallyfinerparticulatematterthatcanreachdeeperintothelungslikePM_(2.5)(particulatematterdiameter<2.5μm).SomesubpopulationsmaybeparticularlyvulnerabletoPMpollution.Thisreviewfocusesononesubgroup,long-termstrokesurvivors,andtheemergingevidencesuggestingthatsurvivorsofastrokemaybeatahigherriskfromthedeleteriouseffectsofPMpollution.Whilethemechanismsformortalityarestillunderdebate,long-termstrokesurvivorsmaybevulnerabletosimilarmechanismsthatunderliethewell-establishedassociationbetweenPMpollutionandcardiovasculardisease.Thefactthatlong-termstrokesurvivorsofischemic,butnothemorrhagic,strokesappeartobemorevulnerabletotheriskofdeathfromhigherPMpollutionmayalsobolstertheconnectiontoischemicheartdisease.SurvivorsofanischemicstrokemaybemorevulnerabletodyingfromhigherconcentrationsofPMpollutionthanthegeneralpopulation.TheclinicalimplicationsofthisassociationsuggestthatreducedexposuretoPMpollutionmayresultinfewerdeathsamongststrokesurvivors.
简介:Apeer-to-peer(P2P)networkisadistributedapplicationarchitecturewhichprovidesmanyattractivefeatures,suchasavailability,self-organization,load-balancing,andanonymity.However,P2Pnetworkhascreatedsignificantproblemstonetworkoperatorsbygeneratinglargevolumesofinterautonomoussystem(inter-AS)traffic.FocusingontheBitTorrentswarmingprotocol,thispaperproposesanapproachwhichaimstoreduceP2Pgeneratedinter-AStraffic.Inparticular,theapproachcanreduceinter-AStrafficby50%to70%.Moreover,itcanimprovethedownloadingspeedby60%forthepopulartorrents.Theevaluationshowsthatcontrolledregional-basedcontentsreplicationcaneffectivelyachievethisgoal.Furthermore,theapproachisincrementallydeployable.NetworkregionsinwhichthesystemgetsdeployedcansolvetheirP2Pgeneratedinter-AStrafficproblemsautonomously,i.e.,withoutanyInternetserviceproviders-collaborationandanyrequirement,thesystemcanbedeployedintheentireInternet.

简介:近几年来,Skyline查询处理在许多应用领域具有潜在的实用价值。在Map-Reduce框架下采用基于角度数据划分的方法,本文提出Cirl-Skyline查询算法。进一步提高算法的查询效率,为了更好的解决重复计算局部没有发生变化Skyline查询点的问题,在Cirl-Skyline算法的基础上提出Restrict-Skyline算法。理论分析和实验证实,该算法具有高效性和可扩展性。
