  • 简介:Whitebackedplanthopper(WBPH)-resistanceinajaponica/indicadoubledhaploid(DH)ricepopulationestablishedfromacrossbetweenWBPH-resistantjaponicaChunjiang06andsusceptibleindicaTN1,wascomparativelyevaluatedthroughafieldexperimentbasedontheWBPHimmigrantdensityandstandardizedseedboxscreeningtest(SSST).AllthesusceptibleDHlinesinthefieldexperimentbehavedaccordinglyinSSST.However,35ofresistant66lines(53%)inthefield,werecategorizedtosusceptiblegroupsinSSST.Likewise,therewerenosignificantdifferencesinWBPHimmigrantdensitiesamong70DHlinesthatwerehighlyresistanttosusceptibleinSSST.TheresultsrevealedthatSSSTcouldnotevaluateproperlyWBPHresistanceintheDHlines.FourQTLsforWBPH-resistancephenotypedbytheimmigrantdensityweredetectedonchromosomes2,3,4,and11.Ofthem,theQTLonchromosome4wasthemosteffective(LOD21.8,variance78%).FiveQTLsassociatedwithseedlingmortalityweremappedonchromosomes2,3,4,5and6.InadditiontotheQTL(LOD10.5,variance68%)onchromosome4,therewasanothermajorQTL(LOD12.7,variance71%)locatedonchromosome5,whichwasSSST-specificbutmightbeirrespectiveoftheWBPHresistancetraits.

  • 简介:Race-specificresistanceandfieldresistanceof30riceblastresistancemonogeniclinesderivedfromdifferentresourceswereevaluated.Thespectraofresistanceto163MagnaporthegriseaisolatescollectedfromindicariceinGuangdongProvince,Chinarangedfrom0.6%to89.6%.Mostofthemonogeniclinesshowedanarrowresistancespectrumandhighsusceptibilityinriceblastarea,whereasthelineswithPikhandPi1(t)hadthebroadresistancespectraof89.6%and82.2%respectively,showingahighandstableblastresistanceinfields.Accordingtotheclusteranalysisofspecificresistanceto163blastisolatestested,the30monogeniclinesweredividedinto15groups,andbasedontheprincipalfactoranalysis,ninekindsofrace-specificresistancewereidentified.Pik,Piz5,Pi9andPishcanbeusedascandidateresistancegenesforricebreedingsincetheirspecificresistancedifferedfromthoseofthebackboneparentsinGuangdong,China.GenepyramidingofPikh[orPi1(t)],Pi9(orPiz5)andPish(orPita2)willbeeffectivetoobtainbroad-spectrumblastresistanceinricebreedingprograminGuangdong,China.Thestrategiesforstudyingandapplicationofriceblastresistancegeneswerediscussed.

  • 简介:Bacterialleafblightofrice(BLB),causedbyXanthomonasoryzaepv.oryzae,isoneofthemostdestructivediseasesinAsianricefields.Ahigh-qualityricevariety,LT2,wasusedastherecipientparent.IRBB21,whichcarriestheXa21gene,wasusedasthedonorparent.TheresistancegeneXa21wasintroducedintoLT2bymarker-assistedbackcrossing.ThreeXooraceswereusedtoinoculatetheimprovedlinesfollowingtheclippingmethod.ElevenBC3F3linescarryingXa21wereobtainedbasedonmolecularmarkersandagronomicperformance.The11linesweretheninoculatedwiththethreeXooraces.Allthe11improvedlinesshowedbetterresistancetoBLBthantherecipientparentLT2.BasedonthelevelofresistancetoBLBandtheiragronomicperformance,fivelines(BC3F35.1.5.1,BC3F35.1.5.12,BC3F38.5.6.44,BC3F39.5.4.1andBC3F39.5.4.23)wereselectedasthemostpromisingforcommercialrelease.Theseimprovedlinescouldcontributetoriceproductionintermsoffoodsecurity.
