简介:Tobettersimulatemulti-phaseinteractionsinvolvingfailureevolution,thematerialpointmethod(MPM)hasevolvedforalmosttwentyyears.Recently,aparticle-basedmultiscalesimulationprocedureisbeingdeveloped,withintheframeworkoftheMPM,todescribethedetonationprocessofenergeticnano-compositesfrommoleculartocontinuumlevelsothatamultiscaleequationofstatecouldbeformulated.Inthisletter,amultiscaleMPMisproposedviabothhierarchicalandconcurrentschemestosimulatetheimpactresponsebetweentwomicrorodswithdifferentnanostructures.Preliminaryresultsarepresentedtoillustratethatatransitionregionisnotrequiredbetweendifferentspatialscaleswiththeproposedapproach.
简介:Thepinchpointisimportantforanalyzingheattransferinthermodynamiccycles.Withtheaimtorevealtheimportanceofdetenniningtheaccuratepinchpoint,theresearchonthepinchpointpositioniscarriedoutbytheoreticalmethod.Theresultsshowthatthepinchpointpositiondependsontheparametersoftheheattransferfluidsandthemajorfluidproperties.Inmostcases,thepinchpointlocatesatthebubblepointfortheevaporatorandthedewpointforthecondenser.However,thepinchpointshiftstothesupercooledliquidstateinthenearcriticalconditionsfortheevaporator.Similarly,itshiftstothesuperheatedvaporstatewiththecondensingtemperatureapproachingthecriticaltemperatureforthecondenser.Itevencanshifttotheworkingfluidentranceoftheevaporatororthesupercriticalheaterwhentheheatsourcefluidtemperatureisveryhighcomparedwiththeabsorbingheattemperature.Awrongpositionforthepinchpointmaygenerateseriousmistake.Inbrief,thepinchpointshouldbefoundedbytheiterativemethodinallconditionsratherthantakingforgranted.

简介:ChargedparticlediagnosticsisoneoftherequiredtechniquesforimplosionarealdensitydiagnosticsattheSG-IIIfacility.Severalprotonspectrometersareunderdevelopment,andsomepreliminaryarealdensitydiagnosticshavebeencarriedout.Theresponseofthekeydetector,CR39,tochargedparticleswasinvestigatedindetail.Anewtrackprofilesimulationcodebasedonasemi-empiricalmodelwasdeveloped.TheenergyresponseoftheCR39detectorwascalibratedwiththeacceleratorprotonsandalphasfroma241Amsource.AprotonspectrometerbasedonthefilteredCR39detectorwasdeveloped,andD–Dprimaryprotonmeasurementswereimplemented.Asteprangefilterspectrometerwasdeveloped,andpreliminaryarealdensitydiagnosticswascarriedout.AwedgedrangefilterspectrometerarraymadeofSiwithahigherresolutionwasdesignedanddevelopedattheSG-IIIfacility.AparticleresponsesimulationcodebytheMonteCarlomethodandaspectraunfoldingcodeweredeveloped.Thecapabilitywasevaluatedindetailbysimulations.
