  • 简介:Thedynamicmicrocosmswereusedtoevaluatetheeffectofoilspillsonmicrobialecologicalsysteminmarinesedimentandtheenhancementofnutrientontheoilremoval.ThefunctionandstructureofmicrobialcommunitycausedbytheoilpollutionandphosphatedosageweresimultaneouslymonitoredbydehydrogenaseactivityassayandPCR-denaturinggradientgelelectrophoresis(DGGE)techniques.Theresultsindicatedthattheamountoftotalbacteriainalldynamicmicrocosmsdeclinedrapidlywithincubationtime.Thenumberofpetroleum-degradingbacteriaandtheactivityofsedimentdehydrogenaseweregraduallyenhancedbypetroleumintheoil-treatedmicrocosms,whiletheybothshowednoobviousresponsetophosphatedosage.Incomparison,phosphatespikedheterotrophicbacteriaandtheyshowedasignificantincreaseinamount.DGGEprofilesindicatedthatpetroleumdosagegreatlychangedcommunitystructure,andthebacteriabelongedtoclassDeltaproteobacteria,andphylaBacteroidetesandChlorobiwereenriched.Thisstudydemonstratedthatpetroleuminputgreatlyimpactedthemicrobialcommunitystructureandconsequentlythemarinesedimentpetroleum-degradingactivitywasenhanced.Phosphatedosagewouldmultiplyheterotrophicbacteriabutnotsignificantlyenhancethepetroleumdegradation.

  • 简介:BackgroundInthisstudy,weaimedtoevaluatetheimpactofabnormalglucose,lipidandCystatin-ConthevirtualPvectorcharacteristics,whichhaven’tbeenreportedinpreviousstudies.Methods204ofnon-diabetesmellitus(NDM),130ofDM(type2)and39ofimpairedglucosetolerance(IGT)patientswereconsecutivelyandretrospectivelyrecruited.Weselectedaone-minutelengthofelectrocardiogramat4AMforanalysis.Afteraseriesofcalculatingalgorisms,weobtainedthevirtualplanarPvectorparameters.ResultsTherewerenosignificantdifferencesinFPV,FPA,RSPV,RSPA,HPVandHPAgroups.Afteradjustingconfoundingfactors,theregressioncoefficients(RC)wereestimatedasfollow:forFPV,femalegender(RC-0.21,P=0.02),triglyceride(RC-0.09,P<0.01),RVOT(RC0.03,P=0.02);forRSPV,femalegender(RC-0.21,P<0.01),triglyceride(RC-0.10,P<0.01),averageheartrate(RC0.01,P=0.02);forHPV,triglyceride(RC-0.08,P<0.001),LDL(RC-0.19,P<0.01),ApoB(RC0.67,P<0.01);forRSPA,Btypeofblood(RC-22.06,P=0.02),Cystatin-C(RC-72.79,P=0.02),thicknessofinterventricularseptum(RC3.70,P=0.01).Cystatin-CwassuggestedasacurerelatedtoRSPA,andthecut-offpointwas1.6mg/L.TherewerenosignificantriskfactorsassociatedwithFPAandHPA.TherewasnodifferenceinvirtualPvectoramongDM,IGTandNDMgroups.ConclusionIncreasedlevelsoflipidandCystatin-CsignificantlyimpactthecharacteristicsofvirtualPvector,whereasglucosedoesnot.Thesechangesmaycomefromahigherlowvoltageatrialareaandabnormalorientationofatrialdepolarization.

  • 简介:Objective:Toobservetheeffectofacupunctureoncerebralglucosemetabolisminstrokepatients.Methods:Changesofcerebralglucosemetabolismbeforeandafteracupuncturestimulationwereobservedinsixcasesofstrokepatientsbyusingpositronemissiontomography(PET)scanner.Electroacupuncture(EA,4Hz,continuouswavesanddurationof20min)wasappliedtoBaihui(百会GV20)andrightQubin(曲鬓GB7).18Fluorinedeoxyglucose(18FDG),adeveloper(radioactiveformofglucose)forshowingthelevelsofthebrainfunctionalactivitywasgiventothepatientsintravenously.SPMsoftwarewasusedtodealwiththedataofeachpixelpointbyunilateralt-test(Ts:P=0.05),then,theregionsshowingincrease/decreaseoftheglucosemetabolismwereobtained.Results:Afteracupuncturestimulation,significantincreaseofglucosemetabolismwasfoundtobeinthefirstsomaticmotorcorticalregion(MI),supplementarymotorarea(SMA),premotorarea(PMC),andthesuperiorparietallobule(LPs)onthehealthysideofthebrain;whilethedecreaseofglucosemetabolismfoundinMI,PMCandLPsonthefocusside.Inadditiontothecerebralregionsrelatedtothemotorfunction,changesofglucosemetabolismwerealsofoundintheparietallobuleandbasalganglionarea,centralparietalgyrus,superiorparietalgyrus,putamen,cerebellum,etc..Conclusion:AcupunctureofQubin(GB7)andBaihui(GV20)canactivatemotor-relatedcerebralstructuresinthebilateralcerebralhemisphereandinduceexcitementreactionofthepotentiallycorrelativemotorareasoastocompensateorassisttheinjuredmotorareatoplayaroleinimprovingmotorfunctioninstrokepatients.

  • 简介:Sinceconventionalwatertreatmentisnotaffordableindevelopingcountries,lookingforlocallyavailableandalternativetreatmentoptionsismandatory.Removaloffluorideandphosphatecanbeachievedbydesigningappropriatefiltrationmediafromdifferentmaterialssuchassand,calcinedclay,pumice,scoriaandbonechar.ThisstudywasdesignedtodeterminetheremovalefficiencyoftheselocallyavailablefiltermediawithrespecttodetentiontimeandpH.Thefiltrationapparatuses(tank)werefilledseparatelywithstone,gravelwithgrainsize0.6-4.75mmand40cmdeep,sand(ES=0.15-0.35mmandUC=1.5-3),calcinedclay,pumice,scoriaandbonecharwithgrainsize0.25-0.5inch.Watersampleswerepreparedusingglassbottleswithfluorideconcentrationsof6and8mg/landphosphateconcentrationof4mg/1.Laboratoryanalysiswascarriedoutbeforeandafterfiltrationtodeterminetheremovalefficiencyofeachmedium.Itwasfoundthatthehighestremovaloffluoridewasachievedbybonechar(89.65%),followedbypumice(82.4%).However,bonecharhasratherincreasedtheconcentrationofphosphateby63.8%.Sandwasthemostefficientmediatoremovephosphate,managingtoremoveby70%.Therefore,itisanattractiveoptiontousetheselocallyavailable,environmentalfriendlyandappropriatetechnologiesforefficientremovalofbothfluorineandphosphateatthehouseholdorcommunitywatertreatmentlevel.

  • 简介:Wereporttheadsorptionofphosphateanddiscussthemechanismsofphosphateremovalfromaqueoussolutionbyburstfurnaceslag(BFS)andsteelfurnaceslag(SFS).Theresultsshowthattheadsorptionofphosphateontheslagwasrapidandthemajorityofadsorptionwascompletedin5~10min.Theadsorptioncapacityofphosphatebytheslagwasreduceddramaticallybyacidtreatment.Therelativecontributionofadsorptiontothetotalremovalofphosphatewas26%~28%.PhosphateadsorptiononBFSandSFSfollowstheFreundlichisotherm,withtherelatedconstantsofk6.372and1/n1.739forBFS,andofk1.705and1/n1.718forSFS.ThepHandCa2+concentrationweredecreasedwiththeadditionofphosphate,suggestingtheformationofcalciumphosphateprecipitation.AtpH2.93and6.93,phosphatewasdesorbedbyabout36%~43%and9%~11%,respectively.TheseresultsindicatethatthePadsorptionontheslagisnotcompletelyreversibleandthatthebondbetweentheslagparticlesandadsorbedphosphateisstrong.TheX-raydiffraction(XRD)patternsofBFSandSFSbeforeandafterphosphateadsorptionverifytheformationofphosphatesalts(CaHPO4·2H2O)afteradsorptionprocess.WeconcludethattheremovalofphosphatebyBFSandSFSisrelatedtotheformationofphosphatecalciumprecipitationandtheadsorptiononhydroxylatedoxides.TheresultsshowthatBFSandSFSremovedphosphatenearly100%,indicatingtheyarepromisingadsorbentsforthephosphateremovalinwastewatertreatmentandpollutioncontrol.

  • 简介:Objective:Tostudytheeffectofmildhypothermiaonglucosemetabolismandglycerolofbraintissueinpatientswithseveretraumaticbraininjury(STBI)usingclinicalmicrodialysis.Methods:Thirty-onepatientswithSTBI(GCS≤8)wererandomlydividedintohypothermicgroup(GroupA)andcontrolgroup(GroupB).Microdialysiscatheterswereinsertedintothecerebralcortexofperilesionalandnormalbraintissue.AllsampleswereanalyzedusingCMAmicrodialysisanalyzer.Results:Incomparisonwiththecontrolgroup,lactate/glucoseratio(L/G),lactate/pyruvateratio(L/P)andglycerol(Gly)inperilensionaltissueweresignificantlydecreased;L/Pinnormalbraintissuewassignificantlydecreased.Incontrolgroup,L/G,L/PandGlyinperilensionaltissuewerehigherthanthatinnormalbraintissue.Inthehypothermicgroup.L/Pinperilensionaltissuewashigherthanthatinrelativenormalbrain.Conclusions:MildhypothermiaprotectsbraintissuesbydecreasingL/G,L/PandGlyinperilensionaltissueandL/Pin'normalbrain'tissues.Theenergycrisisandmembranephospholipiddegradationinperilensionaitissueareeasiertohappenaftertraumaticbraininjury,andmildhypothermiaprotectsbrainbetterinperilensionaltissuethaninnormalbraintissue.

  • 简介:ThisstudywasperformedtoassesswhetherthereisanassociationbetweenelevatedFastingBloodGlucose(FBG)andhearingimpairmentinBangladeshipopulation.Atotalof142subjects(72withelevatedFBG;70control)wereincludedinthestudy.Themeanauditorythresholdsofthecontrolsubjectsat1,4,8and12kHzfrequencieswere6.35±0.35,10.07±0.91,27.57±1.82,51.28±3.01dBSPL(decibelsoundpressurelevel),respectivelyandthatofthesubjectswithelevatedFBGwere8.33±0.66,14.37±1.14,38.96±2.23,and71.11±2.96dB,respectively.TheauditorythresholdsofthesubjectswithelevatedFBGweresignificantly(p<0.05)higherthanthecontrolsubjectsatalltheabovefrequencies,althoughhearingimpairmentwasmostevidentlyobservedatanextra-high(12kHz)frequency.Subjectswithalongdurationofdiabetes(>10years)showedsignificantly(p<0.05)higherlevelofauditorythresholdsat8and12kHz,butnotat1and4kHzfrequencies,comparedtosubjectswithshorterdurationofdiabetes(10years).Inaddition,basedonthedataofoddsratio,moreacuteimpairmentofhearingattheextra-highfrequencywasobservedindiabeticsubjectsofbotholder(>40years)andyounger(40years)agegroupscomparedtotherespectivecontrols.Thebinarylogisticregressionanalysisshoweda5.79-foldincreaseintheoddsofextra-highfrequencyhearingimpairmentindiabeticsubjectsafteradjustmentforage,genderandBMI.Thisstudyprovidesconclusiveevidencethatauditorythresholdatanextra-highfrequencycouldbeasensitivemarkerforhearingimpairmentindiabeticsubjects.
