Microstructuresandmechanicalpropertiesoftransientliquidphase(TLP)bondedmagnesiummetalmatrixcomposite(MMC)jointsusingcopperinterlayerhavebeeninvestigated.Withanincreaseofbondingtimesfrom5minto50minatbondingtemperatureof510℃,theaverageconcentrationofcopperinthebondedzonedecreased,themicrostructureinthezonechangedfromCu,α-MgandCuMg2toα-Mg,CuMg2andTiC,andmechanicalpropertiesofthejointincreased.Theshearstrengthofthejointbondedat510℃for50minreached64MPaduetothemetallurgicalbondingofthejointandimprovingitshomogeneityofcompositionandmicrostructure.ItisfavorabletoincreasethebondingtimeforimprovingmechanicalpropertiesofTLPbondedmagnesiumMMCjoint.
